Tuan Malinowski (they/them) is a creative, actor and educator, redefining & reclaiming the landscape of American musical theatre. As a creative, Tuan was the choreographer for New York Theatre Barn’s Choreography Lab, where they were mentored by Emmy-winning, Tony-nominated choreographer Joshua Bergasse (NBC’s Smash, On The Town). Most recently, Tuan choreographed Footloose at Viterbo University and The Spongebob Musical at University of Alabama at Birmingham. They also choreographed a re-imagined Pippin at Weathervane Theatre. As an actor, Tuan was in the most recent developmental reading of Luna and the Gold River Docs, directed by Chase Brock (Be More Chill, Disney’s Hercules) with music supervision by Rob Berman (City Center Encores!, Bright Star). In addition to their passion for new work, Tuan has performed at regional theatres across the country, notably: Peter Pan (Pittsburgh CLO), Disney’s Newsies (Casa Mañana), The Wizard of Oz (Kansas City Starlight Theatre) and Mamma Mia! (Flat Rock Playhouse).
Additionally, they are a champion of education. Tuan has been on faculty for Ithaca College’s virtual Summer Musical Theatre Pre-College Intensive, teaching Acting The Song.
